Hi Reader, ChatGPT has a hidden unlock that most people don’t know about. It’s called Project memory control. And it solves one of the biggest frustrations with using AI for multiple things: the messy, tangled memory that bleeds into everything. The Problem with a Shared BrainMemory is nice. It gives AI context so you don’t have to repeat yourself. But it’s messy. It remembers that one-off search you did for a gift and thinks it’s your new career path. It mixes the feedback from a client project with your personal weekend plans. It all bleeds together, and you have to constantly keep it tidy and pruned. It’s like having a brilliant assistant who has zero boundaries between projects. Now, with projects, you can give your assistant a clean workspace for each new task. Why You Need a Clean SlateHere are a few reasons you might want to do this: 1) You work with other people and organizations. This is a game-changer for client work. You can create a dedicated project for each client, keeping all the context, feedback, and proprietary information completely separate. No more accidental data leaks or confused outputs. 2) You want unbiased results. AI develops a bias toward you. Go ahead, ask it who’s the best at what you do—you’ll see what I mean. If you’re doing research and need a truly neutral perspective, starting with a clean slate is the only way to get it. 3) You use AI for both personal and business. Many of us use these tools to draft a tough email to a client, and then five minutes later, to plan a vacation or write a poem. Separating these contexts keeps your professional tone out of your personal life, and vice-versa. How to Use Project MemorySo, how do you actually do this? It’s surprisingly simple. When you’re creating a new project, look for “More options.” Inside, you can select “Project only” for memory. (Note that it's only available on new projects). This simple click isolates the project. It won’t use any of your account’s past memory and will only focus on what you tell it for that specific task. This is a huge unlock for getting clean, predictable results. The Path to Better AI ResultsGetting great results from AI takes three things: This feature is a small but powerful step toward creating clean, focused workflows. It’s about moving from a chaotic, jack-of-all-trades assistant to a focused specialist for every project you tackle. That’s how you get repeatable, high-quality results. Are you using projects? If so, for what? Hit reply and let me know. I read every response. -Dan 🖤 P.S. Hi Reader, Everyone’s talking about “AI agents” right now. But most people are confused about where automation stops and agents begin. Here’s the truth: they’re not as distinct as the charts make them seem. Automation: If this happens, do that. Boolean logic. Predefined rules. Fast, reliable, but rigid. AI automation: Same structure, but now you’re calling an LLM for one or more steps. Still deterministic overall, but with flexibility where you need it. AI agent: Non-deterministic. Adaptive....
Hi Reader, Save this (you’ll use it weekly). The right prompt is like magic. It gets you dependable results every time. It takes the frustration out of the creation process. It’s the foundation of a rock solid and repeatable workflow. But here’s the thing: A prompt needs to be custom to your task. So most copy-and-paste prompts aren’t valuable. Instead, you need to learn the Meta Prompt™. What it is: AI knows how to use AI better than people. Meta Prompting is using AI to create your prompt...
Hi Reader, I’ve always struggled to post consistently. For the longest time, I thought it was just me being lazy. Or perfectionist. Or not having anything valuable to say. But I found an unlock that changed everything. The Struggle Was Real I still get all up in my head. I feel like I don’t have anything to say. Get frustrated when posts don’t perform. Sound familiar? Here’s what I didn’t realize: I was suffering from Content Blindness. Every day, I was having brilliant conversations. Solving...
